Napoleonic 3rd Ligne Fifer 21

The base for this figure was completed with foliage.

Transformed bases with ready-made surfaces

I cut and glued ready-made surface matting onto the new bases. The edges were trimmed and some coloured putty was added.

The turban was sculpted. Some padding was done to the shoulders.

Photos of the Royal Coach

Here are two pics of the Royal Coach.

WWI British Postman 12

I dusted some snow onto the legs and lower part of the figure. Footprints were created in the snow. There was some minimal painting on the figure. These are the final pics of this piece. The unique large postbag is the unusual item here.

Roustam

I made this figure a few years back, using modified Historex parts. Following an unsatisfactory painted job,  I decided to strip the figure off and was left with the figure largely intact except for the face. This was removed completely and I cleaned up the rest of the figure.

I have decided to resuscitate this piece by giving it a new face and ears.

Repaint of Isabella of Hapsburg

This is a Mokarex figure painted more than 20 years ago. I have decided to repaint the figure.

A leCimier hunting dog is to be added to this scene. Some putty was added to smooth out the casting.

WWI British Postman 11

The groundwork was further built up and foliage was added. Snow was added to the scene with white glue.  Finally the figure was fixed to the scene.

WWI BritishPostman 10

The current base meant for this figure is being used for another figure.

Recently I received a large order of very nice wooden bases I've decided to use one of these for this piece.

A brass nameplate was glued to the base. Groundwork was created on top slightly sloping forward. A simple wooden fence and a small piece of driftwood was affixed to the base.

I decided to use a larger base for this figure. The railing and guard post wall was cut down in size.

I painted the lettering on the drum and also refined the ornamentation on the figure. Almost done.

Basing and Transforming Commercial Figures 2

More painting in progress. All painting is done with oil paints.

The tartan trews look good. The face and other areas are being repainted.

Basing and transforming commercial figures

I decided to base more figures ready for painting. Most of these are standard figures. A few needed improvements. All the figures were epoxied to the bases.

This figure appeared to have one leg shorter.

 The legs were removed.

Wire was inserted into the legs and the figure was repositioned.

This was an old Chota Sahib figure being given a new base

I decided to shorten the legs to represent a younger boy. Wire was inserted to strengthen the legs and following final resculpting of the calf muscles, buckle straps were added to the gaiters.

Cheshire Militia Bass Drummer 9

I haven't posted for a while as my house was being upgraded and all the miniatures were under wraps.

I attach some tiny buttons to the front of the vest and touched up the final painting on the vest. Some cords were added to the vest as well.

I painted the drum cords and attached drum slings. The drum was then attached to the figure and secured by the protruding pin with glue. The drum slings were then fitted around the figure. The drum buckle was then glued over the sling joint.

A cord was added to the hat and final painting is now in progress.
