I have built up a personal collection of miniature figurines. Starting with commercially available kits, the collection was gradually built up to represent various aspects of military subjects and now, includes many other unique figures which represent cultural subjects, all sculpted from epoxy putty, plastic and metal over wire armatures. This blog will record the curation of this diverse and evolving collection.

Prince Charles Stuart
I had converted this figure from a Tradition kit wearing trews many years ago. It was converted to one wearing kilt and the face was changed. Sometime back, I had tried to redo the figure but then abandoned it in the stash. Recently, I came across this figure again and have decided to redo him properly.
Tibetan Bass Drummer 12
The face was painted. The uniform was shaded in dark brown. The drum hoops and cords are being painted.
Charles and Diana 3
After filing and shaping the additional putty to the contours of her dress, I repainted the dress. Prince Charles was also removed from the base for a general overhaul. The base is painted gloss black.

Converted Tiger 5
Studying various illustrations on the web, I continued to adjust the proportions on the tiger. More work was done on the back legs.
Murat Historex 3
Part of the sword belt was remade. The arms were reattached and the figure was inserted into its new smaller base.
Drum Major Senot 6
The left elbow was built up. White undercoat was added to the reworked areas before re painting the figure.
Drum Major Senot 5
The left arm was inserted and the gap was filled in. The epaulette fringes were scrapped away.
The right hand was glued back holding the drum stick. I substituted Historex hussar braid locks.
An officer sword was added. As per my illustrations, this seem to be the closest match to a black leather sword sabre with decorated gilt details. It would make sense to as the length of the sword when compared to a short briquet would be more befitting for a man as tall as Senot. The sword rings were carefully trimmed and glued to the figure to appear as if the tunic turnback was masking the sword straps. Some putty was added to mask the rings.
The epaulette fringes were resculpted.
The plume was reattached. The figure was remounted onto its base.

Murat Historex 2
The figure was removed from the base.
Notice the wasp-waisted figure. I removed the arms to get at the waist. Putty was added to bulk up the waist.

Drum Major Senot 2
I repositioned the head to give a longer neck. Then the head was resculpted to represent a longer face. The hands are being resculpted to look more realistic.
