I have actually been doing a lot of figures. However I have decided not to do a blow-by-blow account of the work, as it involves considerable effort to post wip photos. The search for earlier threads is also not easy, as some of the progress is stretched out over months and years.
Instead, I will update with fuller postings on figures nearing completion or completed, thus making the search for related threads easier. This will also give a complete synopsis for each project.
I have built up a personal collection of miniature figurines. Starting with commercially available kits, the collection was gradually built up to represent various aspects of military subjects and now, includes many other unique figures which represent cultural subjects, all sculpted from epoxy putty, plastic and metal over wire armatures. This blog will record the curation of this diverse and evolving collection.

JB 21
As I was not satisfied with the painting, I decided to strip the paint off with Dettol and repaint the figure.

WWI Tommy 11
It been a while since I last worked on this piece.
I have decided to rebase it on a smaller base. I selected one and replaced the name plate carefully on the base. The figure was prised off the old base.
Some groundwork was added and a tree stump was added.

Henry IV Le Cimier 5
I painted the base using masking tape. When dry, holes were drilled to insert the Henri IV figure.
Both figures were epoxied to the base.

JB 20
It's been awhile since I last worked on this piece.
Looking at the figure, I decided to reshape the top part of his head.

ECW Standard Bearer 7
The flag was carefully epoxied to the figure. When set, further sculpting was done to the piece.
The figure was given a light undercoat spray of matt white on the copper sheet.

ECW Standard Bearer 6
When I tried to add sculpted nails to the flag staff, the moisture from the water needed to smoothen the putty destroyed the paper flag. The piece was set aside until I had figured a way to overcome this problem.
Finally I have decided to make the flag out of thin copper sheet. A piece of the same size flag was cut out and rolled out flat to remove any kinks. The edge to encircle the staff was gently rounded and rolled around the staff tightly. The staff was pulled out and re-epoxied into position. Excess epoxy was wiped off.
Nails were sculpted along the flag staff.
The figure itself was further refined.

Marie Medici is also being touched up. Here are the two pieces on separate bases. I intend to place them together on one base.

Tibetan Bass Drummer 15
I repainted the face and the uniform was given a lighter shade. The belt and drum straps were painted. The drum was then epoxied and the figure was also fixed to its base. Drum stick pads were added. Finished.
The unusual sling for the bass drum was what drew me to this figure. I think that I have captured the national characteristics of the Tibetan soldier here.
