Sarum 71st Highland Officer 12

I came across some older illustrated references for this officer. There is a pink sash tied on the right hip worn under the tartan cloak. There is also a white shoulder belt for the sword worn across the chest. The shako is also tied to the body with cords and acorns and there is a highland dirk worn on the belt. The highland trews are quite attractive and can be worn without leather gaiters. Officers are shown carrying a riding stick.

Hence I decided to modify the finished figure further.

The figure was prised from the base and the belt and sash were sculpted onto the figure. Cords were made from wire which was twisted and draped onto the figure. The trews were sculpted over the leggings and when hardened, the legs were carved and sanded down. A start has been made to repaint the tartan. A similar repaint of the trews for a Scottish Cameronian figure is also shown here.
