I decided to use a smaller base for this figure. A fence was added to the setting.
I have built up a personal collection of miniature figurines. Starting with commercially available kits, the collection was gradually built up to represent various aspects of military subjects and now, includes many other unique figures which represent cultural subjects, all sculpted from epoxy putty, plastic and metal over wire armatures. This blog will record the curation of this diverse and evolving collection.

Cheshire Militia Bass Drummer 2
I substituted another head for this piece. Wires were inserted into the figure for arms and to attach the drum.
Dragon ACW Union Inf (2)
I decided to assemble all the figures in this set, substituting Wolf miniatures muskets for the plastic pieces. Also started to add details here and there to improve the figures.

Dragon ACW Union Inf
Dragon produced this limited run set of 4 ACW infantry figures in 1/32 scale. I've decided to fix up one of the figures with some small improvements to see how it would fit into my burgeoning collection. The substituted rifle is from Wolf Miniatures.
The Spanish in Louisiana 2
I've decided to update this piece as the original paint was discolouring. The figure was removed from its stand and is now being repainted.

Horse Marine (5)
After checking through my references, the trooper is wearing laced leggings instead of cavalry boots. I substituted an Airfix Afrika Korps set of modified legs to represent this.
The sword was a Historex spare and the gun was an Airfix spare. The saddlery and legs are being modelled accordingly.
This overhead picture shows that the sword and gun sticks out diagonally from the sides towards the back of the horse.

FFL Trumpeter
I had made this figure at the same time as the FFL kettledrummer. The head and boots were taken from an old 1/35 Verlinden figure and mounted onto a Historex horse. I may update this piece soon.
The Spanish in Louisiana
A converted figure from Airfix and Historex parts made in 1993. The stand was a pencil stand, covered with Roccoco pictures from a glossy magazine.
