Quite a bit of progress here.

 The shaping of the saxhorn is well-underway.

 The trousers were finalised with a stripe down the outer seam. Corrections were made to the frock coat. As the figure uniform was rather plain, I decided to model some baggage on this piece, starting with the haversack slung over the right shoulder. A tincup was added from Shenandoah Miniatures.

 Over this, I sculpted in a knapsack. The Airfix blanket roll on top was to create the proportion. This was substituted with a sculpted blanket roll.

 The corporal stripes were also added.
