Louis XIV 15

I refined the painting on the face, and reshaped the shoes. The tongue of each shoe was trimmed off and the shoes were reshaped. The drum was test-fitted onto the figure and it fits nicely.

Heian Palace Guard 4

The face was repainted with the reshaped nose.

Samurai 5, 6

8/3/14

Given that the colours are so dull, I decided to repaint the figure. Blemishes were scrapped off. The scabbard was filed flat. The mon designs were filed off. The spaces between the hands and the legs were hollowed out.

The figure was painted in oils and left to dry.

The figure has dried quite nicely. I added another layer of gloss polyurethane varnish to the scabbard to create a high gloss effect. The grass was also painted with shades and highlights.

Heian Palace Guard 3

I decided to resculpted the nose.

Louis XIV Drummer XIV

I spent the weekend focusing on this figure. The lacings were redone and carefully lined up. Highlights and shadows were finalised on the coat. Final buttons were added and all buttons were outlined and painted in gold. The hair was built up at the back and painted.

Finally the buckles on the shoes were removed and the shoes were extended.

Louis XIV Drummer 13

I outlined the lacing and discovered that some of them were in the wrong place. I decided to redo the lace painting after I had resculpted some other details, including the cuffs, hair and drum harness.

Hans Joachim von Ziethen

I have had this figure for sometime now. It is a conversion based on a U Puchala figure. The headdress, the arms and back were modified.  I glossed over the base and added lettering. Finished!

The WWII personalities collection

I have decided to redo the earlier figures and add more figures, based on the quality of work achieved with the Rommel figure. This work involves the adjustment of the height of the various personalities to make it more varied and interesting.

SS officer

The deGaulle figure height readjusted to Rommel figure.

Hitler being converted from 1/35 scale

A comparison of the various figures being composed in 1/32 scale. Only Stalin remains at 1/35 scale, suitable for his recorded short height.

Arapaho White Woman 4

I retouched the painting on the figure and finalised the lettering on the base. Finished!
