The kit was issued as a single casting with some accessories unsecurely attached and come off easily. The picture shows that the hat piece has fallen off. I had placed this figure on a modified electric socket base with some simple groundwork.
This picture shows the arrow bowcase removed as well. Note the shallow depressions for attachment points. The arrows are Tamiya plastic replacements for the original dreary castings.
The piece is quite attractive except for the simian-like head and the rather stiff pose. I determined to snip off the back of the head and resculpt it.
This picture shows wire inserted into holes drilled into the attachment points.
I decided to change the position of the head as well. The back of the head was removed, the head was repositioned and rebuilt.
The figure was epoxied to two pieces of wood which was epoxied onto the new base.
This closeup shows the dramatic posing, especially when placed on an elevated piece of groundwork. The left foot was also twisted downwards to reflect him standing on uneven ground. The hat piece was securely attached to the back of the hat.
Another view of the figure. The final position of the figure was fixed when the figure was twisted about 45 degrees to the front.
Another view of the resized head and repositioned neck
A front view of the figure with some builtup groundwork.
