Napoleon visiting the plague-stricken in Jaffa

This was another iconic Napoleonic painting by Baron Antoine-Jean Gros, which showed Napoleon fearlessly visiting the plague-stricken victims in Jaffa. They were suffering from bubonic plague and Napoleon made an attempt to quell negative rumours about him poisoning the sick before abandoning them in his retreat from Syria during the Egyptian campaign.

This diorama was started after about the Paris and Helen diorama.
