Early failed conversions

Besides Airfix and before I discovered Historex, There was Tamiya. Their figures were undersized when compared to Airfix and always appeared club-footed to me, with generic faces and cupped hands. Their plastic was also more brittle and harder to cut. But they were cheap. I could never build a figure from the box, so I used to make up various figures.

These three German based figures are some part survivors of this carnage.

ACossack mounted on a cut-up Airfix horse.

A figure wearing zeltbahn  (plastic card melted onto a figure).

A German motorcyclist. I used liquid plastic to cover his whole body to try to carve out motorcycle overalls.
